About the Farm

David Sheldrake, is a second generation farmer whose father had chickens and vegetables on an allotment during the second world war, when the war finished he applied and was successful in getting a council owned small holding of 16 acres. On that small holding he was able to bring up David being the youngest son and four daughters. What he achieved on that small holding was quite remarkable. His efforts were rewarded by a visit from the agricultural minister for Israel who was interested in what could be produced from a small parcel of land. When David left school in 1960, he and his father then moved to a much larger farm that was 120 acres in size. David and Coral have progressed the business from there.
Beaumont Farm at present has a farm shop and wholesale fresh fruit and vegetables, a horse livery yard and a herd of native breed pedigree Sussex cattle. We tenant some land owned by the National Trust called Runnymede and land owned by Runnymede Borough Council known as Chertsey Meads, all of this land is farmed under conservation schemes. We take cuts of sweet meadow hay and supply local farms and equestrian establishments.

Beaumont Farm is Farm Assured. A symbol of excellence in British agriculture.
